| Hey guys, it's Walter Stemple here, uh, to comment on the Ooey Gooey Brand-Aids skit, I must say, is pretty foul. I wrote this skit, and this is the first time, actually, that I've heard it, I'm writing this right after the first time that I heard it, and I think caller number three
said it best when he said "Wow! That is amazing!" Yup. I wrote and acted in this skit, but I did not edit it. Mopitus Adjessant did that, and I must say that I think he did a bang-up crackerjack job. I think one of the greatest choices in making this skit was the choice of background music. I just think that happy, Caribbean calypso just goes right along with Brand-Aids and good times. It's like going to the beach, really. Now I wrote this skit in 2001, and we didn't record it until late in 2002. If you listen to the outtakes, you'll hear just how surprised I am at the foulness of the script, which, you know, I hadn't read in months. Um, it seems, just, very, you know, low-brow sort of humor and stuff. There are a few gems in there, a few hidden gems, but for the most part, it's pretty much just your run-of-the-mill disgusting skit. If you listen to the outtakes, also you'll hear comments about kittens, and that's because we recorded it at Mopitus Adjessant's house, where there are, in fact, two woobs running around the house, as we're recording, and I must say that the disgruntled vet that we got to do the part of Disgruntled Vet was very disgruntled by all this commotion. Oh, yeah! The List! Ok: you know how on TV there's always, like, these ads for those CD compilation albums? And you know, they list off, just thousands of songs and you kind of don't pay attention after a while? That's kind of what I wanted this list to be in Ooey Gooey Brand Aids. You know, I wanted the list to start with things that the Brand Aids are good for, and eventually mentions you know, the Star Spangled Banner, and Take Your Breath Away. Oh! Walter Mondale is also in there, and that's a reference to these lists that Boffin Smarm submitted to Audience Participation, and in each of his lists, he always had, umm, a Chevy Cavilier, and Walter Mondale... and I think usually something about Canada, too. Ha ha! That line: "It goes on and off so exciting." In hearing this skit, that line sounded really wierd to me, and I couldn't figure out why... I mean, probably because it makes no sense, neither grammatical nor realistic. So anyway, I'm looking at my script now, and the word is actually "easily", but because my handwriting is so bad, I think Mope must've read "exciting", and it slid right under the radar! -- and I think that's my favorite part of the skit now! |
