Founded in the late portion of the twentieth century at a drunken convention of wax, Rolf's Rundrum combines the sex appeal of Wayne Knight, the Zizazz of a Phish cover band, and the Taschenlampenbrille of a pair of eyeglasses with light bulbs on them. Built upon non-traditional musical patterns and the occasional extra beat per measure, the music of this up-and-going new ensemble reminds one of a setting moon among drifting clouds at dusk; or of a crazy, fat gray cat searching for her next meal.

Okay, fine: so the instruments sound out of tune every now and then. Sure, the lead guitar may have been purchased at a garage sale for a penny less than $1.01. And yeah, that singer has one hell of an off-key voice.

But that's not the point. The goal with this music is creativity. Breaking down the barriers of a 4/4 time signature. Pulling off the unexpected and making it sound like it was supposed to be there all along. Changing chord progressions incognito. Incorporating multiple distinct musical themes into one coherent piece, so much so that the listener cannot easily break apart each theme.

Y'all know the bands and music that inspires Rolf's Rundrum. Uber-thanks, of course, goes out to -- who else?! -- Sir Walter Stemple, for his eternal support and inspiration to our band...
