I believe creativity is among the most valuable elements of humanity. We all possess it, and we each choose to harness it in different ways. Although what is displayed within these pages is essentially a portfolio of my own works, I hope that it can also serve as a window into my philosophy on the potential we all have as creators.

Sounds cheesy, I know, but bear with me:

Whereas I herein display video and studio art as a collection of works I've created and the development of my particular styles, I also hope to suggest that such ideas and influences are meant to be shared amongst all of us.

Using chalk, for example, offers me the ability not only to decorate public areas for my own amusement, but also to invite others to do the same. It is a medium that allows me to bounce ideas off my fellow citygoers, to encourage their own creative expression, and to thus draw inspiration for myself.

Although my pursuit in capturing light with photography is an evolving experiment I developed, I hope that the images I've captured and assembled can serve as inspiration for others to create their own such works. The process is quick, easy, and offers a fresh outlook on some of the very images we see around us every day.

With checkmate I try to...well, okay: Checkmate is just a silly comic strip I created. But I believe it offers a window into my sense of absurdity and my postmodern approach to humor. Because if we can't stop taking ourselves so seriously, we've already lost something.

Plunge ahead...
