![]() |
Cking White, the White family patriarch, presides over the
family with hopeless oblivion. Though a kind character at heart, Cking often finds himself immersed in irrationality. |
|

The loving-but-slightly-sinful mother of the White family,
Kween White, is a doting mother but a frequent philanderer. Her devotion to her husband and son
is omnipresent, but she, like any chess piece, gives in to desire every now and then. |
|

![]() |
An only child, Ponn White is a pre-teen who is
already experiencing teen angst. Intellegent, yet rebellious, Ponn often finds himself running with the wrong crowd while at the
same time outwitting both his parents and his superiors alike. |
|
| |
![]() |
Bishup White, Cking's oldest brother (and, of course,
Ponn's oldest uncle) is an oblivious man of the cloth. While generally well-intentioned, Bishup certainly does not serve as the best role
model for his nephew. |
|
| |
![]() |
Rëk White (that 'ë' is supposed to be a schwa...you know, that upside down 'e') is the
slobbering sloth of the family. Rëk is Cking's second oldest brother and is constantly scheming of ways to seduce Kween. |

Knghyte is the family cat. Brought into the White household only recently,
Knyghte is said to have fit in perfectly with the family. |

object of affection -- to Bishup. |
|
| |
![]() |
The Rent-a-cop only appears once in Checkmate, but is present
in spirit whenever Cking is at work. R-a-C works as a security officer at Cking's Ultra-Secret Government Office, but usually sleeps his
shift off. |
|
| |
![]() |
Regina is Bishup's slovenly, chain-smoking secretary.
She's been working in the same office since Bishup's grandfather's time. In fact, she used to work for Bishup's grandfather. |
|
| |
![]() |
Dr. Roi is the White family doctor. He sees the families through
such crises as sicknesses, illnesses, and broken ivory. |
|
| |
![]() |
Rowina only appeared once, as she is the ongoing
make-up artist for the Family Feud. Incidentally, she is the daughter of Richard Dawson and some contestant the host hit on during
a show way back when. |
|
| |
![]() |
Louie Anderson, the host of Family
Feud at the time when the Whites competed, has since been replaced by Al Borland. Look for Louie, though, in future
Checkmate episodes! |
|
| |
![]() |
Rex Gray is the father of the Gray
family, the Whites' competitors on the family feud. Ironically, the Grays live right next door to the Whites, but the
two families had never met until travelling to Los Angeles for the game show. |
|
| |
![]() |
Rex's wife Evyllyn Gray makes a living selling
toasters to hobos, and thrives in the community as a soon-to-be wealthy dowager. |
|
| |
![]() |
Rab-eye Gray, Rex's oldest brother, became
in 1985 the world's first Jewish Bishop. As a card-carrying member of Jews for Jesus, Rab-eye advises the village elders on the
teachings of the New Testament and uses his prayer shawl to wipe Communion wine off his lips. |
|
| |
![]() |
Kassle Gray is Rex's second oldest brother and
is a bodybuilder/model for Muscle and Ivory magazine. He is nicely chiseled and is a hit with the ladies, as well as
some of the men. |

Pawna, Rex and Evyllyn's only daughter, is
the only child in the Gray family and the object of obsession of Ponn White. |
